Former Schwarzenberg brewery in Český Krumlov has been transformed into a cultural and social centre named Port 1560. The revitalisation of this industrial heritage site began in 2019 and it is now becoming a sought-after destination in South Bohemia. New permanent exhibitions explore the life of the bourgeoisie and nobility in the 19th century, the history of the region, and feature carefully restored examples of authentic brewing technologies. The grounds also include garden, which now serves as a key public cultural and social space in Český Krumlov. Our studio has been part of the broader implementation team from the very early stages. We created the brand, a comprehensive visual identity system, wayfinding, graphic applications integrated into the architecture, as well as the development and design of interactive applications and merchandising. Close collaboration with the investors enabled us to take part in key decisions regarding the project’s name, communication strategy, exhibition design, and the architectural concept of the wayfinding system.
The project was awarded Silver at the European Design Awards 2025 in the Signage & Wayfinding category.
